Senior Brand Designer (Freelance)

Vannevar is in the process of developing a new brand identity. We’re seeking a Freelance Senior Brand Designer to support our rebranding effort, specifically within web and editorial design. This is a unique opportunity to help us establish the visual styles that will define our brand identity. About the role 

As a Freelance Senior Brand Designer at Vannevar, you will support the design and development of our new website, as well as large scale editorial design projects. Beyond that, you will have the creative freedom to help define visual styles across mediums, including but not limited to art directing photography, developing illustration styles, and defining how we create diagrams and data visualizations. 

What you'll do

• Elevate Online Presence: Oversee the design and continuous improvement of our marketing website and digital platforms.
• Create Compelling Visual Content: Design internal and external assets, including print materials, illustrations, and digital content.
• Innovate and Inspire: Stay ahead of industry trends and bring fresh ideas to keep our brand at the forefront of design innovation.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with marketing, product, and executive teams to ensure brand consistency and integration.
• Design Company Swag: Create branded merchandise that resonates with our team and audience.

What we look for

• Proven Experience: 5+ years of brand design experience with a proven track record of leading brand design projects. 
• Strong Portfolio: A portfolio that demonstrates innovative brand work, strong conceptual thinking, and excellence in typography and overall visual design.
• Collaborative Leader: Strong interpersonal skills with experience working cross-functionally and influencing stakeholders.
• Communication Expert: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions.

Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

We’re proud to offer competitive rates and flexibility for contractors. This position will be initiated with a 6 week contract with potential to extend. Ideally 40h/week but flexible. We are a 100% remote first company. You can work from anywhere in the US with a flexible schedule.
